BOISE -- There are now three requests for exemptions to Idaho's strict 1947 liquor license laws in front of the Legislature.
One of the proposed new exemptions would help the Caldwell Night Rodeo continue serving liquor, while additional proposals are meant to benefit the eastern Idaho resort city of Driggs, as well as the Nez Perce tribe's new convention center.
If these bills make it through the House and Senate to Gov. C.L. Butch Otter's desk, the Republican chief faces a tough decision of whether to follow through on his 2008 threat to help end the era of specialty licenses.
