Oz Blog Day 12
Friday s Dr. Oz Show featured his Ultimate Shopping List. It has all the healthiest, cheapest, and best food, treatments, and essentials from the grocery, health food, big-box, drug, and dollar stores.
I d be running out right now to get all the stuff he listed, but I can t... or won t... or rather, I m intimidated. You see, my wife is out of town, and I can't/won't do it alone. I know it sounds fun dragging two boys around to five different stores trying to find specific items while they will undoubtedly just want to go home, or try to sneak Sugar Globs cereal into the cart, or want to play demolition derby with the carts... now that I write that, it doesn t sound fun. I ll just make Katie do it... Then again, the couch isn t comfortable enough for that. I ll head out next week when Katie is home to wrangle the boys. I ll keep you updated.
Oz says this is also one of the first times he s mentioned specific brands on the show. He s very careful about not appearing like he s a paid endorser for certain pills or supplements, because he s not. I, however, would LOVE to sell out for your product (ed note: he s joking). I m not joking. Send checks to the station, and I might mention how cool your product is, if I have time. (ed note: really, he s joking). OK, I m joking. But, I m sure our KTVB.COM advertising department would LOVE to hear from you. Just tell them, Justin sent me, and they ll give you a discount (ed note: no they won t).
Later in the show, one of Oz s guests recommended a simple clothespin on the nose to stop nosebleeds. The guest E.R. doctor then put the pin on Oz s nose. Oz, you re a brilliant surgeon and doctor who dominates daytime television, leave the goofy shtick to me.
A lot of people are asking me how I m feeling, or how much weight I ve lost now that I m almost half done. Of course, to drive up page views, I don t answer those people, and instead tell them to check the blog (ed note: I don t know if he s joking here).
I am feeling much more energetic, and I ve lost 3 or 4 pounds... or seven. Why don t I know if it s three or seven? When I bought a new scale, I kept the old digital one. My first time on the new scale, it showed that I lost four pounds on my first day. That was good news, but possibly too good to be true. So, I ve started weighing myself on both scales. It's kind of like getting a second opinion from a different doctor. Of course, I don t weigh myself on both scales at the same time... OK, sometimes I do that.
