BOISE -- A spokesman for Simplot Co. says construction on a $70 million project in Boise designed to honor Idaho business icon J.R. Simplot could begin by the end of the year.
David Cuoio tells the Idaho Business Review that a Simplot team is finalizing details with the City of Boise and the Ada County Highway District as part of a process to get building permits.
Boise Planning Director Hal Simmons says work sessions will be set when the company submits additional plans.
Simmons says the city has questions about exterior materials, colors and the final landscape.
The complex is called JUMP -- or Jack's Urban Meeting Place.
Construction would create more than 700 construction jobs and take two years to complete.
