BOISE-- Republican foes of Congress' health insurance overhaul passed a measure to help block it in Idaho, comparing the law to Nazi Germany and saying it would allow the federal government to take our children.
The measure heads to Gov. C.L. Butch Otter after Tuesday's 24-11 Senate vote.
A previous nullification effort to stymie the federal law failed in the Senate after Idaho's attorney general advised lawmakers it would violate the U.S. and Idaho constitutions.
Proponents say changes remedy that -- while still making certain Idaho isn't willingly married to the federal reform effort.
The Spokesman-Review reports Sen. Sheryl Nuxoll of Cottonwood said the federal health reforms sets up a wealth of programs in the home to take our children away from us, which is the same way the Nazis did.
