BOISE -- The Idaho Foodbank is sending out a call for bowl donations.

The popular Empty Bowls fundraiser allows buyers to choose from hundreds of handmade, hand-painted bowls and enjoy a bowl of gourmet soup.

The Foodbank says they need 2,000 bowls.

Both experienced and novice artists can donate.

If you want to paint a bowl but aren't sure how to go about it, two ceramics studios are helping out.

Ceramica in Boise and Piggy Pigs Pottery in Meridian are waiving their studio fees in exchange for a non-perishable food donation.

This year's Empty Bowls event is set for Nov. 29.

The Foodbank says every bowl donated will provide 30 meals to those in need.
