STAR, Idaho -- An Oregon man was arrested Wednesday on a felony drug trafficking charge after deputies found marijuana in his car during a traffic stop in Star.
Officers were called to North Can Ada Road and West State Street after several people called Ada County dispatch to report a dangerous driver. Witnesses said the driver of a Nissan Altima was weaving into oncoming traffic and nearly caused several crashes.
Police stopped the car at North Center Street for reckless driving. A K-9 named Chloe alerted deputies to 3.44 pounds of marijuana in the trunk and 1.65 pounds of hash oil mixed with marijuana butter in the backseat.
They arrested 35-year-old Robert Simunich of Bend, Oregon. In addition to the felony drug charge, he was cited for reckless driving.
Investigators say the estimated street value of the drugs is about $16,000.
