BOISE -- Thousands crowded into downtown Boise Saturday for the 24th anniversary of Pridefest.
Organizers say the event is aimed at promoting positive diversity in the valley.
Saturday's events started with a rally at the Statehouse and then a march through downtown Boise. The festival, formerly held at Anne Morrison Park was relocated to BoDo this year to create better visibility and economic impact.
Festival Organizer Lisa Perry stressed the importance of the Pride Festival saying, Pride is an important celebration for the LGBT community. It's important to be out and proud of who you are and be safe in your community and show everyone that we are a part of Boise, we contribute to business and we are proud to be here.
