CALDWELL -- A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday for a new juvenile justice center in Caldwell.
Today was the official opening for the $1.3 million expansion to the SW Idaho Juvenile Detention Center and Juvenile Probation Office. It is now known as the Juvenile Justice Center.
The 6,500 square foot center includes two new juvenile courtrooms along with judge s chambers.
This is truly a commitment to save lives of our children, a commitment to advance the interests of justice in this very district, and equally important, a commitment to solve problems in ways that are cost effective, said Juvenile Justice Judge Dayo O. Onanubosi.
The project was paid for using money from the dedicated court facility fund along with proceeds from the Idaho Lottery.
