CALDWELL -- A 23-year-old Caldwell man is in the Canyon County Jail, accused of beating another man over the head with a pistol.
The incident happened just before 10 p.m. Tuesday on Elm Street near Kimball Avenue.
Caldwell Police say multiple callers dialed 911 to report 23-year-old Pedro Perez was threatening a 20-year-old man with a gun.
However, when police arrived, they found Perez injured on the ground.
Witnesses say he reportedly tried to jump into the victim's car after the fight started, but fell out and was hurt. He was immediately taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
After investigating, police determined Perez had threatened a 20-year-old Caldwell man, pointed the pistol at him, then repeatedly hit the man over the head with the gun.
According to reports, Perez then tried to jump into the victim's car as he drove away, but fell out of the passenger side window and was injured.
Police say he dropped the gun inside the 20-year-old victim's vehicle.
The victim wasn't seriously injuried, and was treated on scene by paramedics.
Perez is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
