BOISE -- Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire in west Boise Sunday afternoon.
A neighbor called 9-1-1 after noticing smoke coming out of a duplex on the 4000 block of North Marcia Place.
When fire crews arrived they called in a second alarm to assist, worried the fire would spread in the multi-family structure. Firefighters entered both sides of the duplex to find no one home.
Crews were able to quickly contain the fire from spreading and Battalion Chief John Peugh said, the response was as good as it gets.
Lynn Hightower with the Boise Fire Department says the Boise Fire Local 149 Burnout Fund and the Red Cross are helping the residents affected by the fire find a place to stay.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
