NAMPA -- The Nampa Police Department has added a new vehicle to its fleet. It is called a military M-RAP (mine-resistant,ambush protection).

Thanks to a Pentagon program, the large truck has been assigned to the Nampa Police Tactical Response Team for transporting officers in high-risk situations.

Because of its heavy-duty build, the vehicle can be used for threats from armed gunmen, hostage rescue, and bomb threats.
