BOISE -- Boise Police say a man driving the wrong way in downtown Boise is now in jail on drug and other charges.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle going the wrong direction on West Front Street near South 16th Street.

During the traffic stop the suspect provided false information about his identity. The man was eventually identified as 19-year-old Andrew Stowell of Boise. A check of Boise City Records revealed he had two outstanding felony warrants for his arrest on probation violations.

Police found two plastic baggies containing about 5 grams of marijuana in Stowell's pockets. A Boise Police K-9 alerted to the likely presence of drugs in his vehicle. A search revealed digital scales and packaging materials. During their investigation officers found evidence that Stowell intended to sell the controlled substance.

He was booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, probation violation warrant charges, a providing false information to police - a misdemeanor.
