BOISE -- Police say a 26-year-old Boise man and a 23-year-old Boise woman worked to kidnap another man at gunpoint on Sunday.

Matthew Welch, 26, faces a list of felony charges including kidnapping, aggravated assault and robbery.

Police say Welch was inside a car that was being driven erratically by 23-year-old Heather Johns, who's also charged with felony kidnapping.

They say Welch grabbed a shotgun and ran away from officers when they pulled the duo's car over Sunday evening. Welch was reportedly found and arrested a short time later.

Investigators say a man inside the car said he'd been kidnapped at gunpoint.

Police say the driver of the car, 23-year-old Heather Johns, is charged as an accomplice in the kidnapping.

The suspects and victim are known to each other, and the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute, according to police.
