ONTARIO, Ore. -- Ontario Police are investigating a death at a mobile home that caught fire Friday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the house fire 460 SE 5th Avenue shortly before 4 p.m.

They found 66-year-old Sally Ann Hardy unconscious inside the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Hardy lives there with her daughter who was not home at the time.

A cat and kittens also perished in the fire.

The home is a total loss. There was not an working smoke detector in the home.

The Ontario Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.

And the Malheur County Medical Examiner is investigating the exact cause of death.
