NAMPA -- Fire crews arriving on the scene of a house fire found flames shooting from the roof of the building.

The fire, at the intersection of Yale Street and Hudson Avenue, broke out around noon in a building that appeared to be a home modified into three separate apartments. Fire investigators later determined it was a duplex.

Nampa Fire Department deputy chief Doug Strosnider tells KTVB that none of the tenants were home at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.

Strosnider said there was heavy damage to the attic area of the home and firefighters had to remove part of the roof to get to the fire.

The Caldwell Fire Department helped battle the flames.

Fire investigators say the fire started near a laptop computer but the cause is undetermined.
