GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. Mountain rescue crews are gathering at Timberline Lodge after the reports a person was trapped in an avalanche or landslide on Mount Hood Saturday, according to deputies.

A group of seven people were reportedly on the glacier when the avalanche happened and one of them became trapped. One of the seven people then called 9-1-1, said Sgt. Robert Wurpes with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

The avalanche reportedly happened on the White River Glacier Northeast of the lodge. Hood River County sheriff's deputies are responding to the scene.
