BOISE -- A car burst into flames after breaking down in a Boise neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

It happened at the intersection of Liberty and Butte streets just after 5:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the car stalled and smoke began pouring out from under the hood. Moments later, the car was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and quickly doused the flames.

The car's occupants got out safely and there were no other injuries reported.

The car was destroyed.
