EAGLE-- Nearly 3,000 fifth graders from around the Treasure Valley got an up close look at history Thursday.

A non-profit group called Idaho Civil War Volunteers gave living history presentations at Eagle Island State Park.

Kids learned about the Civil War, including weapons and equipment used, as well what life was like in a Civil War camp.

The group hosts the educational event each year.
