BOISE -- Family and friends gathered Thursday to welcome Idaho's latest group of returning military members.

Ten airmen from the Idaho Air National Guard 124th Civil Engingeering Squadron returned from Afghanistan just after 12 p.m.

The airmen were stationed at Bagram Air Base for 180 days. They're based at Gowen Field in Boise.

Family and friends of the airmen greeted them with open arms -- literally.

Senior Airman Gregory Speed was nearly tackled by his young daughter Trinity, who ran through an airport security check to leap into his arms.

When asked what he thought about the crowd gathered, Speed said It's great to know how much the area around here supports us.
