BOISE -- A Caldwell man has been charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in the death of an Eagle man who was hit and killed while riding his motorcycle in August.

Deputies with the Ada County Sheriff's Office arrested 28-year-old Tyler James Campbell on Thursday after he turned himself in. An Ada County judge had previously issued a warrant for Campbell's arrest.

Campbell was driving the Ford F-250 pickup that broad-sided 64-year-old Arthur Peter Zottarelli on the morning of August 27 near the 4100 block of West State Street.

Investigators say Campbell attempted to make a left turn across several lanes of traffic, and then struck Zottarelli's motorcyle.

The 64-year-old died on impact.

Authorities say it could be several weeks before any other charges are filed in the case, given the complexity of the crash investigation.

Campbell posted a $10,000 bond and was placed on supervised pre-trial release.

The 28-year-old will be monitored for alcohol and drug use and is not allowed to drive while awaiting his court hearings.

Campbell is scheduled to appear in district court on November 16.

Deputies say it doesn't appear Campbell was impaired while driving.
