NAMPA -- A long wait for 176 people in the Treasure Valley is over, and they can now call themselves American citizens.

There were 48 different countries represented Thursday at the Civic Center in Nampa.

Each person took an Oath of Allegiance to the American flag.

Officials try to hold the ceremony close to Citizenship Day, which is Monday the 17th, marking the day 225 years ago when the Constitution was signed.
