BOISE -- A 21-year-old transient is charged with aggravated battery after his pit bull attacked a man Thursday afternoon at an area rest stop.

Boise Police say officers were called to the 4100 block of Broadway Avenue for a report of a fight in a parking lot.

The address corresponds to the Travel Centers of America rest stop. An assistant manager at the store confirmed the attack had occurred, but declined further questions.

Around 4 p.m., an employee spotted three men drinking on the property and told them to leave. The men became aggressive and verbally abusive toward the man.

Witnesses say Timothy Pressley unleashed his pit bull and the dog bit the victim on his face. As the man struggled with the dog, Pressley punched the victim in the nose, causing a laceration.

Officers responded and had to tie the dog to pole as it attempted to bite them.

Pressley was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated battery.
