GOODINGCOUNTY, Idaho -- Idaho State Police say an anonymous tip has led authorities to a dozen marijuana grow sites in a Gooding County corn field.
The tip was received Wednesday night. ISP detectives got some aerial support and found 12 grow sites with around 4,200 marijuana plants. The estimated street value of the seized marijuana is more than $7.3 million.
Lt. Kevin Haight says farmer is not a suspect. He says this is a fairly common occurrence where the owner plants some crops and then someone else comes in and plants their own crops. Police believe they got all the marijuana growing in the field.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with information about these grow sites or others like it, to contact the nearest ISP office or call the ISP drug tip hotline at 1-800-524-7277.
