BOISE -- A Bureau of Labor Statistics report gives us a snapshot from May of last year. That's when the average worker in the Boise-Nampa metro area earned $19.37 an hour.
That's 11 percent less than the national average of $21.74 an hour.
The most common occupations were office and administrative support jobs. They accounted for 17.5 percent of local employment.
Compared to the rest of the nation, the Boise area has a higher concentration of people working architecture and engineering.
They accounted for 2.8 percent of local employment, compared to 1.8 percent nationally.
