OWYHEE COUNTY -- Owyhee County Commissioners are again asking for Sheriff Daryl Crandall's resignation after some of the county's liability insurance was taken away.
The county's insurance carrier, Idaho Counties Risk Management Program, announced this week it will no longer defend the county against personnel-related lawsuits against the sheriff's office and jail.
That means county taxpayers would have to foot the bill for the defense of those suits.
Just last year a wrongful termination lawsuit was filed against the sheriff, but it was dismissed.
On Monday, county commissioners issued their second official demand for Crandall to resign.
