WEISER -- The town of Weiser is watching the level of the rising river that runs alongside town.

Right now, the Weiser River is about two feet under flood stage.

It is so full because the Snake River is only about a half of a foot under flood stage, therefore, the water from the Weiser River has nowhere to go.

The Weiser River has breached its banks in some areas.

There was minor flooding in Weiser this spring but the last time the town saw any major flooding was in the late 1990s.

The mayor says they are monitoring the river and checking the water levels every hour.
