BOISE The 2011 Mountain West Conference football schedule is finalized and Boise State fans can start plotting their weekends.
The team will play each of its 12 games on a Saturday in a reversal of a recent Western Athletic Conference trend that moved games to other days of the week to accommodateESPN. In BSU's new league, most games this year will be seen on The Mtn., CBS College Sports or Versus, though the opener will be played on ESPN.
That first game against Georgia, as previously announced, will take place at a somewhat neutral site in Atlanta, just down the road from Georgia's Athens home. The non-conference game against Fresno State could also be picked up by ESPN as part of Fresno s WAC ties and contract with the sports network.
Boise State will play Texas Christian University on the blue turf in the only game the two teams will play as conference foes. That game will be played on November 12th. TCU will leave next season for the Big East.
As expected, the schedule does not include a date with cross-state rival Idaho, the first time the two teams haven't played in decades.
The team has two bye weeks, one on September 10, and another on October 29.
