BOISE - A man dubbed the Duffle Bag Bandit has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison for robbing four banks in Boise.

Gerald Massey, 57, of Shreveport, La., pleaded guilty to bank robbery on Jan. 7, 2014.

Massey admitted that on March 6, 2013, he robbed a U.S. Bank branch at 10700 Ustick Road. Massey stole $64,500.

As part of a plea agreement, Massey must pay restitution totaling $83,448, for the U.S. Bank robbery and three other bank robberies in Boise.

Massey robbed a Chase Bank on Dec. 21, 2012; a Washington Trust Bank on Jan. 4, 2013; and a Wells Fargo Bank on Jan. 22, 2013. Massey never possessed or represented that he had a firearm or any other weapon during any of the bank robberies.

The case was investigated by the Boise Police Department and the FBI.
