BOISE -- A section of Cole Road near Denton Street is back open Friday after road construction workers hit a natural gas line Thursday afternoon.
Police evacuated two businesses in a nearby strip mall and closed down roads in the area as repair crews worked to fix the problem.
Firefighters monitoring gas levels reportedly found the gas had leaked into sewer lines.
According to a spokesman from Intermountain Gas, most of the gas had vented from the sewer lines as of 7:30 p.m.
A portion of the roadway was reopened early Friday morning.
