IDAHO CITY - Idaho City's postmaster went before a judge on Monday.

Teresa Belau is charged with grand theft after prosecutors say she took a gift card from the mail.

A special investigator for the U.S. Postal Service said the investigation began last March after complaints from a customer who said they mailed items but they never arrived at their destination.

Investigators say they caught Belau on camera after using a stolen card at a store in Boise.

She reportedly admitted to taking several cards.

Belau is due back in court next month.
