BOISE -- City and county officials are trying to promote cycling safety after two recent deadly collisions involving cyclists and cars on city streets.
They now plan to hand out several hundred flashing safety lights to bicyclists on the street for free.
The Ada County Highway District and Boise Police Department have teamed up to give out the free lights.
Bicyclists can also pick up the free lights at the Boise Police Administrative Offices. That location is at Boise City Hall West, 333 N. Mark Stall Place Boise, ID 83704.
