NAMPA Around 100 children in Nampa have warm coats for winter thanks to Operation Warm.

The Nampa Firefighters Association and Title One teamed up to provide the coats.

Firefighters stopped by five different schools Wednesday to give the coats to kids.

This is the kind of stuff we like to do outside of our job, said Jason Knopp. We love to give back to the community, it's kind of built into us. So to do something like this, it's right up our alley. The smile on their faces, just nothing's better than seeing a happy kid.

This was the first year Nampa firefighters and Title One participated in Operation Warm.

Knopp says this will be an annual effort and he hopes they can give out 300 to 400 coats in future years.
