BOISE -- A record rainfall of 0.72 inches was recorded in Boise on Monday.
The October 28 precipitation event breaks an old record of 0.48 inches set in 1924, according to the National Weather Service.
Boise has received about 7.4 inches of precipitation since January 1, 2013. That's actually down about 1.33 inches from normal. Last year at this time, Boise had recorded 9.89 inches year-to-date.
While the month of October features below-average rain for Boise, meteorologists say September was one of the wettest and coolest fall months on record.
