BOISE -- Early Monday afternoon, Boise Police were asking people to stay out of the area of Hill Road and Castle Drive.

Police closed Hill Road and evacuated two homes after a gas line was broken at the site where a home caught fire and collapsed last week.

Witnesses tell police around 1:30 p.m. a backhoe was working to excavate the house when the line was hit.

A spokesperson for Intermountain Gas says the gas line was scheduled to be abandoned tomorrow.

No one has been injured. Police say the evacuations are being conducted as a precaution.

Intermountain Gas crews are on scene to deal with the leak and hope to have the problem resolved in two to three hours.

Ada County Dispatch says Hill Road opened back up just after 6:00 p.m.
