BOISE -- As the days continue to get hotter, Boise Parks and Recreation officials say they're thinking about how to conserve water, and still keep the parks green.
Superintendent Tom Governale says they're now using weather stations, computerized irrigation, and soil sensors in their irrigation to be 'water sustainable.'
He says their goal is to simply use the right amount of water for the plants.
The real secret to being sustainable is keeping your plant material healthy said Governale. Don't overwater it, don't underwater it. Because both of those situations cause stress.
Governale also says they try to use the right water pumps, to not overuse electricity.
