MOSCOW, Idaho-- Former University of Idaho Football Coach Robb Akey has filed a lawsuit against the University. Akey confirmed the lawsuit on Tuesday with KREM 2 News.

The lawsuit was filed on April 16th against the University of Idaho, the Board of Regents and the State Board of Education.

Akey was relieved of his coaching duties in October 2012. At the time, the Vandals were off to a 1-7 start this season and are coming off a 70-28 loss at Louisiana Tech. Akey was hired in 2007, has a win/loss record of 20-50 as head coach of the Vandals.

All I'm looking for is getting the money I earned. I'm not looking for anything more than that. I just want a fair resolution, said Robb Akey.

KREM 2 contacted a University of Idaho spokesperson who said that the University does not comment on pending litigation.

Akey s contract was set to expire in December 2014. He made a base salary of $165,796.

University of Idaho leaders announced Arkansas offensive coordinator Paul Petrino would become the next head coach in December 2012.
