BOISE -- Immigration supporters and activists rallied across the country on Wednesday in support of changes to federal laws, better access to work, and worker benefits.

In Boise, more than 700 people chanted pro-immigration slogans while marching down Boise's Capitol Boulevard to the Capitol Mall from Julia Davis Park.

Two themes dominated the event: giving immigrants access to work, benefits and school, and keeping families together.

We want to stop the separation of families, said Rebecca Arteaga, who was rallying for immigration reform. We want to stop deportation because that's just creating chaos in the families that have been here for many years.
