DUVALL, Wash. -- A woman narrowly avoided serious injury after the van she was driving ran off the road and into a fallen tree.

Firefighters in Duvall say the 40-year-old woman swerved off NE Big Rock Road in Duvall and the tree went through the front windshield of the van.

She was able to duck under the tree, but her seatbelt began choking her.

A passerby stopped and cut the seatbelt, likely saving her life.

She is expected to be OK.
