BOISE -- Two years ago, Glenns Ferry native Korey Hall was winning a Super Bowl with Green Bay. Sunday, when we caught up with the former Bronco and Packer, he was watching it at home with his family and friends.

Hall is a small-town guy who made it big, starring for the Glenns Ferry Pilots, Boise State Broncos, then playing for the Green Bay Packers, and winning a Super Bowl.

It was a great experience, said Hall. [It's] the pinnacle of the NFL. It was a great week out there. It seems like so long ago.

It might seem so long ago for Hall, because so much has happened since his friends and family in Glenns Ferry watched him win a piece of the Lombardi Trophy.

Hall retired from football last Fall, saying his body just wasn't holding up. He then moved back to Boise. Two weeks ago, he got a job with a construction company, and just one week ago, Korey's wife gave birth to their first child.

It's a lot of work, said Hall. It's actually been good. It's definitely a life-changing experience... as long as you don't like to get a full night's sleep.

He says he still thinks back fondly on his times in the NFL, but doesn't miss it, and is ready for the next chapter in his life. It was great while it lasted, and I had some great experiences, just great opportunities. Right now, I'm just trying to take advantage of all the new opportunities that have come into my life... And live one day at a time.

While Hall says he's not really rooting for any team in the Super Bowl, he believes the San Francisco 49ers will win the big game.

Two of the stars in the Super Bowl, the 49ers' Colin Kaepernick and Mike Iupati, are WAC alums, playing at Nevada and Idaho respectively. But, Hall never played against either of them. Hall had graduated by the time Kaepernick got under center for the Wolfpack. Iupati was a backup lineman as a redshirt freshman who didn't see any time against the Broncos and Hall in their 2006 game.
