POCATELLO, Idaho -- The Idaho State Police has released the name of a dump truck driver who died when his truck collided with the side of a freight train in southeastern Idaho.

The ISP says 56-year-old Heber Lewis of Preston died Wednesday morning in the collision on state Highway 36 just east of Dayton.

Investigators say the train crossing is equipped with flashing red lights that were functioning properly, but that Lewis may not have seen them due to thick fog in the area.

Several train cars derailed and the tracks were damaged in the crash. Lewis died at the scene.
