BOISE -- The newly built Boise Whole Foods Market is greeting shoppers on Wednesday with a special lineup of events.

While the store opened at 10 a.m., management kicked off opening day with an oatmeal breakfast, and celebratory speeches by Boise Mayor Dave Bieter and members of the Whole Foods Market corporate management team.

The breakfast benefited the Idaho Foodbank.

KTVB got a special peek inside the store on Sunday and Tuesday as employees were stocking shelves, loading up fresh produce, and putting the finishing touches on the interior displays.

We also stopped at the Wildflour Bakery a few miles away from the store. Here, owner Mary Cogswell was getting ready for her company's Whole Foods Market debut. Cogswell's cookies, banana bread, and fonuts -- which are baked donuts -- will be featured in the store.

Whole Foods approached Cogswell about a partnership this past summer. At first, she was nervous about the deal, but then realized it was a positive move for her business.

I thought, 'Oh my God, do I really want to do this?' Cogswell said, adding that lately she's been super excited.

Catherine Trujillo is the Whole Foods Bakery Coordinator. Trujillo says she looks for special businesses to feature in her bakery.

We look at ... what makes them special, and what is really unique about their products, Trujillo said. We really look for the real gems in the community.

Boise's Whole Foods Market has partnered with more than 50 local vendors, including Wildfour Bakery.

The bakery section alone features 8 local businesses.

The company hired 120 employees to open the Boise location.
