BOISE -- The summer irrigation season is coming to a close, which means no more water for lawns, plants and crops.

The Nampa and Meridian Irrigation District is turning off the water today.

Officials say the entire canal system should be nearly empty in four to five days after the water is shut off.

And despite the unusually hot summer the district says there's still water left in storage that will be carried over to next year's irrigation season.
