BOISE -- It's official: the often-overlooked linen district is buzzing with hipsters, colorful hair, and different synthetic strains of indie rock.

That's because the highly-anticipated Treefort Music Fest is now in full-swing.

Although the festival's music started Thursday night, organizers used much of Friday to set up the festival's biggest venue near the Owyhee Plaza Hotel.

Friday's headlining act is the band WHY? Multiple local bands and DJ's will also take to the colorfully, decorated, tree house themed stage.

Music at this main stage will kick off around 5 p.m. on Friday. Organizers say the venue can handle over 1,000 people.

More than 20 other bands will also play at various other venues on Friday. The shows are scheduled throughout the linen district and downtown Boise. Notable folk rockers Blitzen Trapper will play at 10 p.m. at Neurolux.

Press coordinator Matt Dalley told KTVB that national music media will be on hand for the entire weekend, including correspondents from Paste Magazine, Consequence of Sound, Seattle radio station KEXP, and various music blogs.

Dalley also reported that all of the music festival's venues were packed to fire code capacity on Thursday night.
