BOISE -- The State Board of Education will hold a special meeting this afternoon to discuss two big issues in Idaho schools.

The board will talk about the requirement that students must take two online classes in order to graduate.

The board gave the online requirement initial approval in September despite heavy opposition at public hearings this summer. Trustees collected more feedback during a 21-day public comment period last month. A majority of the commenters said Idaho shouldn't require online learning, according to board staff.

Second, the board is expected to discuss Boise State's potential invite to the Big East.

The meeting will begin at 2 p.m.

We will have the results of the meeting on the Evening News at Five, the News at Six, and KTVB.COM.
