BOISE -- The judge in the city of Meridian's unsuccessful lawsuit against Petra Construction says the city must pay full costs and attorney fees.

Petra built Meridian's City Hall at a cost of $21 million.

The city claimed the company did not provide the quality of work it expected.

Earlier this year, Judge Ron Wilper ruled in favor of Petra and ordered the city to cover Petra's legal costs and attorney fees, which total more than $1.8 million.

Meridian filed a motion to disallow payment of those costs.

Wilper denied that motion Thursday but put the judgment on hold until the Idaho Supreme Court rules on an appeal by the city.
