BOISE -- A Boise woman is charged with three counts of felony injury to a child after police say she wandered into the wrong home around 2 a.m. Friday.
Officers were called to a home in southeast Boise after receiving a citizen tip about a woman who appeared to be intoxicated and in the wrong residence.
Upon further investigation, police found that 27-year-old Vanessa Barrows had gone to a local bar and left three children under the age of 10 at home alone.
When officers checked on the kids they found feces smeared on the walls and kitchen floor, and soiled diapers on the floor. They also found an open bottle of wine, kitchen knives and medicine bottles within reach of the children.
Barrows was booked into the Ada County Jail and charged with three counts of injury to a child.
The children have been turned over to the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
