OWYHEE COUNTY -- The Owyhee County Sheriff's Office are charging a Melba man with felony vehicular manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend back in March.

Jacob Canoy, 36, was driving his SUV with Sara Bronson, 21, and his two young children when Canoy says the vehicle blew a tire and tumbled off the hill.

Canoy, Bronson, and the two children were thrown from the vehicle.

Bronson was pinned underneath and died from her injuries. One of the children had severe injuries and the other had only minor injuries.

In addition to the manslaughter charge, Canoy faces two counts of felony injury to a child and several infractions for driving off road. In addition, he is also being charged for not wearing a seat belt, and for not putting his children in seat belts or car seats.
