Idaho Department of Corrections is hoping to hire new correctional officers. A job fair will be held Tuesday, May 20 at the Idaho Department of Labor's office in Caldwell, located at 4514 Thomas Jefferson St.

The fair starts at 1 p.m. and will run until 6 p.m. Correctional officers at IDOC start at $13.27 an hour, and are eligible for insurance, a retirement plan and the opportunity for promotion.

Interested candidates can download a background investigation questionnaire here, fill it out and bring it to the fair for a same-day interview.

IDOC spokesman Jeff Ray said the department hopes to fill 50 positions in the Boise area, with a start date of July 7. Selected candidates can expect to hear back in one to three weeks. He said the turnout has been good so far, with about 20 people visiting the fair in the first 20 minutes.

Job-seekers with disabilities who need a reasonable accommodation can contact Sharon O Toole at 208-364-7781 ext. 3728.
