BOISE -- Hockey fans in Boise will soon be getting more beer for their money.
Eric Trapp, President of the Idaho Steelheads and Centurylink Arena, issued a statement via Facebook Monday afternoon saying there wasn't enough size difference between a large and regular cup of beer sold at the arena to justify the $3 difference in price.
The announcement comes after a video comparing what fans get for their money showed up on YouTube. It shows the two cups hold about the same amount of beer. The video has already been viewed more than 11,500 times.
Here is the entire statement issued by Eric Trapp:
It was recently brought to our attention that the amount of beer that fits in our large (20-oz) cups also fits in our regular (16-oz) cups. The differentiation in the size of the two cups is too small. To correct that problem, we're purchasing new cups for the large beers that will hold 24 ounces, instead of 20, for the remainder of this season to provide better value to our fans. As we do every offseason, we'll evaluate our entire concessions menu for next season over the summer.
