NAMPA -- Police say the suspect in a Wednesday morning police chase is still on the loose.

Shortly after midnight, Nampa Police officers tried to stop a silver 2001 Hyundai Elantra driven by 29-year-old Vincent Prieto, who they suspected of impaired driving.

However, officers say Prieto didn't pull over, and instead took off northbound onto Idaho Center Boulevard, turned onto Birch Lane, and went up onto the curb and hit a power pole, blowing out a tire.

The 29-year-old continued to Edgebrook Drive, where he drove off the road and across a park onto Rainbow Place. Police say that's where he abandoned his car and ran away.

Nampa police and deputies with the Canyon County Sheriff's Office searched for him, but weren't successful.

Prieto is currently wanted for unrelated charges of theft, trespassing, resisting arrest and a traffic violation.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, you're urged to call the Nampa Police Department at 208-465-2257.
